EA Sports has today revealed a selection of new features coming to FIFA 21 when it launches this October, as well as a brand-new trailer for the game which you can watch above.

A couple of the big new features concern VOLTA and Ultimate Team - the former, small-sided football mode is getting a Squads feature where you can team up in 5v5 online cooperative play, while FUT Co-Op will also allow you to join forces with a friend in FIFA Ultimate Team in Division Rivals and Squad Battles.

"This year, we are bringing fans together through social experiences that elevate both the small-sided experience and the excitement felt on the professional pitch, offering the most authentic and interactive EA Sports FIFA experience to date,” said Executive Producer Aaron McHardy. "Along with one of the biggest updates to Career Mode yet and enhanced gameplay realism that continues to bridge the gap between the real and virtual world of football, fans have more ways than ever to play the beautiful game of football we all love." EA says the FIFA 21 will include “all-new dynamic attacking systems”, more dribbling options, plus Creative Runs which create new off the ball moments. Career Mode will feature a revamped player development growth system and offer “a huge leap in gameplay interactivity” to control match outcomes using the Interactive Match Sim, while FIFA Ultimate Team will offer players more ways to customise their FUT Club. As well as a “more realistic and rewarding” Volta mode featuring 20 different pitches, a new street football narrative-based storyline called The Debut will feature Brazilian footballer Kaká and freestyler Lisa Zimouche.

FIFA 21 launches on 9th October 2020 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC, with a pre-order before 14th August granting an untradeable 'Ones to Watch' player for your FUT 21 squad. EA Access members will be able to play the trial version of FIFA 21 from 1st October, while Xbox One owners will be able to upgrade to the Xbox Series X version at no additional cost, should you do so before FIFA 22 comes out.
